Legendary Ghanaian highlife musician and talented songwriter, Pat Thomas return with beautifully crafted music labeled; “Mewo Akoma”. The “Gyae Su” hit-maker, Pat Thomas links up with Africa’s most decorated rapper and SarkCess Music boss, Sarkodie to bless fans and music lovers with an outstanding record. The BET Award winner, Sarkodie delivered a curated rap verse to spice up the project. Pat Thomas was born in the Ashanti region of Ghana. His father was a music theory instructor and his mother a bandleader.
Pat Thomas started off his career in the 1960’s where he collaborated with Ebo Taylor. He formed the band ‘Sweet Beans’ in 1974 and released his debut album, ‘False Love’. In 1974, he formed the band “Sweet Beans” and with them, he recorded his first album False lover. He recorded his second album “Pat Thomas Introduces Marijata” with the band Marijata. After the coup in Ghana in 1979, he relocated to Berlin and later settled in Canada. He is now touring worldwide with his Kwashibu Area Band.
In 2015 Pat Thomas together with the Kwashibu Area Band released an album; “The Golden Voice Of Africa” to mark 50 years of his musical career. He has since then released songs like; ‘Sika‘ featuring Fameye, ‘Time Will Tell‘ featuring Kuami Eugene, among others. “Mewo Akoma” is a great piece of music you will want to add to your playlist and play endlessly.
